The Prophecy Foretold

A meerkat and a hippo are in a car. The meerkat says they need to get to a meeting, the GPS says they're an hour away, the hippo says they can make it easily, but then remembers a lot of things they have to do first
3 hours later, the meerkat says they've missed the meeting. The GPS still says they're an hour away and the hippo says that the GPS must be broken

A plan is not an inevitable prophecy. 🔮

A common pitfall with projects is confusing planning with doing. You draw up a plan and it feels amazing having the route to success laid out in front of you, as though it will now inevitably come to pass - but unless you actually start the journey and follow the steps, nothing will happen. It seems to be stating the obvious, but I've had so many conversations with businesses where they decreed a project must be completed by a certain date, created a plan to reflect that, then proceeded to do absolutely nothing about it for weeks, only to be shocked to find the completion date approaching with nothing to show for it. Just writing a task down won't magically make it happen!

If you've struggled with creating - and following through on - achievable project plans, talk to Fettle IT for practical advice ranging from a quick constructive chat to full-on project management support, as and when you need it.
